About
Emily abrams, BA
counseling intern
Hello! My name is Emily Abrams, and I am pursuing my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at The College of New Jersey. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Media/Journalism and Interpersonal Communications from La Salle University. My interest in counseling sparked while working for a company that developed science-backed emotional intelligence and social activity kits and tools for children. Seeing first-hand how these tools strengthened emotional learning inspired me to support others as they grow and develop confidence in themselves.
I am interested in working with a wide range of populations, including children, adolescents, young adults, and families who may be navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, or relationship challenges. I strive to create a warm and welcoming space where you can feel at ease being yourself and sharing what is on your mind. Therapy is a collaborative process, and my role is to listen with empathy, offer guidance, and help you feel empowered as we work toward positive change together.
I am also a creative person who loves painting, writing, music, and art, and I strongly believe in the healing power of creativity and self-expression. Above all, I value hearing people’s stories and recognize the courage it takes to be vulnerable. I am here to walk with you as you gain new skills and move toward becoming the best version of yourself.
