Welcome to The Healing Tree. As the founder and clinical director of an amazing team, I find myself blessed and honored to be a part of your journey. I come to this field of work as a healer and a helper, and I am humbled by each and every client who invites me to walk with them in their journey to a better life.

My area of expertise is centered in trauma-focused care. I particularly enjoy working with folks who have experienced trauma, including child abuse/child sexual abuse, domestic violence, assault, and many other curve balls life throws our way. Because many folks who have experienced trauma find themselves falling into patterns of maladaptive coping, I have sought extensive training in the treatment of eating disorders, as PTSD and challenges food/body image often go hand in hand. The food/body image challenges are often not the problem, but a symptom of a deeper problem, and that’s where the trauma work may come in. Finally, my own experience with birth trauma and my identity as a proud NICU mama bring a unique perspective to my work within the perinatal mental health community. I have a HAES aligned, weight-inclusive approach to my work with my clients. You will often hear laughter coming from my office, as I’m a firm believer that laughter is one of the best medicines. Even though trauma work is heavy, your sessions don’t need to feel oppressively so. I utilize a variety of heavily researched and validated therapeutic approaches, including EMDR, Sand Play, and Internal Family Systems.

I am especially passionate about training and educating the next generation of social workers and therapists. I teach Clinical Social Work: Working with Survivors of Abuse & Trauma at the Rutgers University Graduate School of Social Work and enjoy bringing my years of clinical experience into the classroom. I am also a training facilitator with EMDR HAP and provide EMDRIA approved consultation for professionals trained in EMDR. I love working in clinical supervision and EMDR consultation with other professionals to help all clients receive the best care possible.

I have completed my 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training, as well as the 40 hour Trauma Informed Yoga certification, and I hope to bring these skills to The Healing Tree in the form of group yoga classes in the future. In the meantime, I incorporate this training into my individual counseling sessions when requested.
